The Best Method of Discipleship

Jesus tells us that our primary Christian responsibility is to make disciples.

I’m convinced that the absolute best way for this to happen is at home, with Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa passing their faith down to the next generation. Consider the following verses; I hope they inspire you to vitalize your family worship time and make family Bible study a daily or weekly event!

Deuteronomy 4:9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
Deuteronomy 6:7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 6:20–25 In the future, when your son asks you, “What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the Lord our God has commanded you?” tell him: … “The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive.”
Deuteronomy 11:19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 31:13 Their children, who do not know this law, must hear it and learn to fear the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 32:46 Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law.
Genesis 18:19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord
Isaiah 38:19 Fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.
Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Psalm 48:13 Tell of them to the next generation.
Psalm 71:18 Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation.
Psalm 102:18 Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:
Psalm 145:4 One generation will commend your works to another.
Esther 9:28 These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family.
Psalm 90:16 May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.
Joel 1:3 Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation.
Joshua 4:21-22 In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, “What do these stones mean?” Tell them….

Exodus 10:2 …tell your children and grandchildren...
